Women’s Ritual Circle Dances – Greece, Armenia, and The Balkans.

Join us once per month in Orizon Center For Life & Creation near Aptera.

The next circle will take place on Friday 21st of March 2025 from 17:00-19:00 with little gathering afterwards with a potluck, so you are asked to bring small dish to share with others.

The traditional women’s dances date back to a time before patriarchal structures, originating in the peaceful societies of Old Europe, including ancient Crete. They embody a worldview centered on harmony, community, and respect for the earth and the Goddess, preserving values of peace and sustainability. The movements are simple enough for beginners, yet offer profound insights for experienced dancers. Born from cultures that have withstood many changes, these dances carry deep wisdom, offering guidance for navigating life’s transitions with dignity, grace, and joy.

The circle will be led by Claudia Welter – Greek dances teacher since 20 years. She has been learning the dance during many workshops from native teachers in Macedonia and Greece. Experienced in teaching at different levels – beginners and advanced dancers – in one group to learn together and support each other. The Ancient wisdom dances are an incredible adding to her dancing view and experience. She has been holding another dancing class for all men and women since 15 years.

Please wear a long skirt/dress, comfortable dancing shoes, bring two scarfs and bring your bottle of water.

The class is based on free donation for the teacher and space.
